Crane park in San Pedro and kite's up!

When we entered San Pedro, a major port of  Los Angeles, Tessa got all excited to see cranes. It reminded her of the port of Oakland, where she sometimes would go with Tod. Crane park, she dubbed it, and she loved it.

Good things happened in San Pedro: we got to hang out with Tod's relatives Mike and Karen another day, after they met us in King Harbor the day before. Happy hour at the playground (that's got to be the best invention for parents!) with their family. Tod also did a quick oil change during Tessa's nap. A neighbor boater kindly took care of our used oil, and as a "bonus" gave us some unsolicited advice about Mexico. We like hearing tips from other cruisers, but when I hear a lot of "you got to to do this" or "mexico healthcare sucks" (in contrast of what we read about it), I tend to cut the conversation short. Sailors can be an opinionated bunch ( myself included)...

Mellow seas and wind again, a sign we are in Southern California. We decided to fly the spinnaker for the last hour on our trip to Dana point, and that was a joy. Hopefully we get to use that frequently along the Baja coast!

  1. So far so good. Happy things seem to go pretty smoothly! How's your sea sickness developing? Getting sea legs yet? Love for the 3 of you. And wish you pleasant and safe sailing. Xx

  2. We were in Dana Point over Easter and loved it. There's a great breakfast coffee place at the marina. Tessa might like the marine exploratorium there.
